Reading: Kate Bornstein’s My New Gender Workbook

Topic and Discussion: We discussed Kate Bornstein’s My New Gender Workbook, focusing on chapters 1-4. We did some gender quizzes and shared ideas about how to teach gender and use the quizzes in our classes. We also debriefed about the Women’s and Gender Studies Across the Disciplines Faculty Roundtable for Women’s History Month.

Reading: Kate Bornstein’s My New Gender Workbook

Topic and Discussion: We discussed Kate Bornstein’s My New Gender Workbook, focusing on chapters 5-7. We did some additional gender quizzes and reflected on what we learned from the whole book. We also worked on planning for Kate Bornstein’s performance on campus on Tuesday, May 24, 2016.

Topic: End of the Semester Celebration

We brought food and drink to share together to celebrate the end of a highly productive year in the Women’s, Gender, and Sexuality Studies FIG. More importantly, we honored Susan Farrell’s work as co-director of the Women’s and Gender Studies Concentration. She stepped down, Alison Better and Amy Washburn joined Caterina Pierre as the new WGS co-directors, and we wanted to celebrate Susan Farrell’s legacy in that role.
